Capela no Monte do Alberginho
Concurso, Alcácer do Sal, 2012
Um dos aspetos mais marcantes do conjunto de edifícios do Monte do Alberginho é a sua disposição segundo uma malha ortogonal, provavelmento surgida como resposta às pragmáticas necessidades agrícolas que lhe deram origem.
O seu atual reaproveitamento e adaptação como “casas de fim de semana” está feito de forma a manter a leitura do seu carácter agrícola original. Esta relação de continuidade que se estabelece, característica da arquitetura vernácula alentejana, é mantida como princípio para este projeto.
Além do próprio contexto, contribuiram para este estudo, por sugestão do cliente, a arquitetura vernacular alentejana e a Igreja da Luz em Ibaraki – Osaka do arquiteto japonês Tadao Ando. Da arquitetura da região, a proposta para a nova capela vai beber as espessas paredes brancas e a sábia disposição das fenestrações e aberturas para controlo da luz e temperatura interior.
A riqueza lumínica é um dos atributos da Igreja da Luz de Osaka, criando, com poucos meios, uma espacialidade de grande intensidade e carga mística.
